When I founded Aging Resources of Douglas County, my vision was simple: to help older adults remain independent, connected, and engaged in the community they call home
Today, that vision is more important than ever. Douglas County's population of adults age 60 and older continues to grow rapidly and now represents more than 22% of our community. As the fastest-growing segment of our population, older adults and their families are turning to Aging Resources for transportation, companionship, help at home, and resource navigation services that enable them to age with independence and dignity.
We have an exciting opportunity to move from our current 1,000-square-foot office to a nearly 5,000-square-foot facility, enabling us to better serve older adults throughout the county. It will be a community hub where older adults can find support, connection, education, and encouragement.
But we need your help with our Together We’re Creating More Than Building Campaign
With your support, we will create:
• Private, welcoming spaces for important conversations with older adults and their families
• Educational programs focused on healthy aging, nutrition, safety, and wellness
• Support groups for those facing illness, caregiving responsibilities, or the loss of a loved one
• Social and enrichment opportunities that reduce isolation and build meaningful connections
Most importantly, you will help create a place where older adults feel valued, supported, and connected to their community.
